Social Drinker of the Week (9/07)

This week our Rummy Award goes to an inventive man from Memphis, Tennessee.

From My Fox Memphis:
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Police arrested a man who pretended to be a police officer after he hit another car in a drunk driving accident in the Frayser area.

The accident occurred on Frayser Ave when the suspect hit another woman's car. When the suspect approached the victim, he stated that he was a reserve police officer from Sardis, Mississippi and that the collision was intentional.

Police on the scene report that the suspect, 44-year old Ulysses Tabor, had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and slurred speech. Tabor also had three children in his vehicle, who were turned over to their mother.

While at first the cover story sounds almost good enough to work, the execution is certainly lacking. What "reserve police officer" would use his own car to ram a suspect? And who would do it with three kids in the backseat?

Mr. Tabor, here's your Rummy. Now you have something to fill the empty space on your mantle that you were saving for a "Father of the Year" trophy.
