Social Drinking Excellence: Miguel Cabrera
This one comes about a week late; blame the evil viruses that have been waging war on me for the last week and a half.
From SunSentinel.com:
Miguel, your Rummy's in the mail. You might as well put it in the spot on your mantle you've been saving for the Tigers' World Series trophy that's never coming.
Props to TJ for the assist.
From SunSentinel.com:
Detroit Tigers and five time All-Star Miguel Cabrera was arrested Wednesday in St. Lucie County on DUI and other charges after sheriff's investigators spotted his vehicle on the side of the road with smoke coming from the engine compartment, according to records released Thursday and an official.Don't get me wrong—drinking and driving is a terrible offense, and Cabrera deserves the full penalty for his act. But...chugging from a bottle of the good stuff while you're talking to the cop? That might be the most gangsta thing done by a baseball player since Roger Dorn paid a visit to Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn on the mound.
When a deputy made contact with Miguel Cabrera, 27, before 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 30000 block of Okeechobee Road, the deputy asked Miguel Cabrera who was with him.
"I am going to (expletive) kill him," Miguel Cabrera is quoted as saying.
The deputy saw no one else in the black 2005 Land Rover or in the area. Cabrera, of Boca Raton, grabbed a bottle of James Buchanan Scotch and started drinking.

Dave Tillis for President
This gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, I too can find a future in politics.

The Wine Got 'em Leaning
This is tough to watch. Sad, really. Though, since I'm not much of a wine drinker, I can take solace in the fact that these shelves weren't full of bottles of scotch.

Bottoms Up
CNN caught wind of the innovative new beer dispenser shown here last week, so they sent my friend Sarah Hoye and a film crew to get the lowdown.
